Footprints of memories

All things leave a footprint - the forces of wind and animals; the siftings and siltings of water, the (often problematic) activities of man. But even memory and thought can mark a plain.

Anita McIntyre's current exhibition of ceramics traces all kinds of actions across the surface of the Earth, rendering delicate maps of time, place, memory, and the kinds of meanings she - or we - might attribute to the landscapes that inspire them.

From the President

Presidents Report as presented at the AGM on Tuesday May 30.

'I am proud of our achievements of 2009 and look forward to the completion of major projects in 2010. As Strathnairn goes from strength to strength the future is looking very good. The Chief Minister, who has taken a great interest in Strathnairn, would hope to further develop Strathnairn with more capital works that would give us more studios, improvements to the homestead, and even another AIR accommodation. This of course would give Strathnairn a larger critical mass of people using the facility and increase our income potential.

The Foundry and Woolshed will be the start of a new audience and we realize these new facilities will take time to establish. However we look forward to an increase in membership, activities such as workshops, classes (in papermaking) and events that will add to the rich tapestry that is Strathnairn Arts Association.'
