That first year of moving from student to practising artist is a crucial time in the process of developing and maturing as an artist. To have the opportunity and focus of an exhibition, such as that supported by the Emerging Artist Support Scheme (EASS) Exhibition at Strathnairn Arts Association is invaluable. The exhibition Coalesce is an exploration of the process of development in that first year by two artists - ceramicist Vicki Passlow and mixed media artist, Michele Grimston.
The master plan that is now being finalised by artsACT of the physical landscape of Strathnairn and has presented us with some exciting new possibilities; access to the property, signage, development of public and private areas and an exciting sculpture walk. There will be further consultation with studio holders and members in the next couple of months.
